New areas come into play

28.05.20

This week the school took possession of the ground floor section of the new building. The Stella Maris Building now has two new completed spaces, the Music Room and a Multi-Purpose space for meetings, gatherings and activities when it is raining, and much more. This week the children gave the new spaces the thumbs up, tick of approval as all classes from Reception to Year 6 will enjoy the new purpose-built facilities.

We think what was even more exciting for the children, was the fact the hard-court space was also open for use this week. After eleven months of sharing the oval and MDC Carpark the kids finally got back their extra space and welcomed the ability to play basketball, shoot netballs and return to playing ‘four-square’ on the handball courts.

In the months ahead the hard courts will be resurfaced, and lines marked. The cold weather has caused the delay as the latex coating won’t cure.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding with student drop-offs and pick-ups. Even though certain areas of our lives are returning to normal, we are still being instructed by health authorities and Catholic Education SA to minimise adult contact and access within the school until further notice.

Hopefully sometime soon we can welcome parents, grandparents and caregivers back into the heart of our school.

Before School Supervision

A reminder to parents that teachers begin duty at 8:20 am in the court area and students need to gather in this area of the school prior to the 8:45 am bell.
