Sports Day Lunches

As you know our annual Sports Day will be occurring on Thursday 11th April in Week 11. Students will have the opportunity to order lunch for that day. This will include sausages, a drink and choice of a snack or a wrap/roll option with a drink and a snack. In preparation for this we have opened up QKR for ordering NOW.  Please find it located under the SPECIAL FOOD MENU tab. This will close on Monday 18th March (Week 8) at 9:30am. We are anticipating to have a variety of food trucks for parents to access on the day. Stay tuned.

Parent Teacher Interviews

There has been a change to the parent teacher interviews schedule for this year. We would like to offer these this term in Weeks 9 and 10 so that parents, teachers and students can reflect on student learning and wellbeing thus far and make a plan for the remainder of the year. Please note semester reports are sent home at the end of Term 2. Online bookings will be made available soon.

LAP

Our Learning Assistance Program has commenced for this term and we are thankful for the volunteers supporting us this year. There are still a number of children who would love to access this program so if you or someone you know would like to volunteer we would love to hear from you. It can be a weekly or fortnightly commitment and you would be fully supported by the school and teachers if it is something foreign to do. Please feel free to pop in and have a chat.

I have included another interesting article from parenting guru Michael Grose. As a parent and educator, I always get some takeaways from his blogs. This week’s article is titled, ‘Encourage kids to help at home (everyday without pay)’. He talks about confident kids being competent kids and the best way for that to happen is when they know they can be successful. We often forget that the easiest way to do this outside of academic or sporting success (because for some kids that just does not come easy) is to try opportunities at home. Allocating roles or jobs that are age appropriate and easy to praise is one way of going about it. Read more in the attached article.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at either our Shrove Tuesday or Ash Wednesday gatherings or around the school over the coming week.

Enjoy the weekend ahead!
