AGM

I extend a sincere thank you to those parents who attended our AGM. Lisa Burman explained our school strategy behind spelling and encapsulated some of the pedagogies is that we employ at Star of the Sea School. I would also like to extend a thank you to our outgoing board members Olivia Scheuffele, Rob Pedicini, Amanda Gower-Dunn and our chairperson for the last three years, Ollie Kratounis. We have appreciated your support hard work and dedication to our school community. We welcome our 3 new Board member for 2019 and 2020, Chris Flaherty, Phillip Reichelt and David Slovenic.

Staffing News

I share with you some exciting news in our newsletter this week and they say that good things happen in threes. Kelly Manera, Nikki Hall and Breanna Brockman are all expecting babies. We congratulate all of them and wish them well in their preparation for parenthood. What an exciting time ahead for Kelly, Breanna and Nikki.

Music Room

The current transportable building that is our Music classroom will be moved on 15 April. It will be moved from its present location to the south eastern corner of the Marine Discovery Centre car park. The building will remain in place at this location until the end of the building project in early 2020.

Building project

The building project is now entering its final design and drawing phase and we will soon be entering into the building tender process. Timing wise, we will know the building company early Term Two and we will keep the school community informed as to the progress of the building works.

I take this opportunity to say thank you to the school community for their support of myself as Acting Principal for this term. I have appreciated your support, flexibility and feedback this term.

Next term we welcome back Joe De Tullio and know that he has had a fantastic Term One and look forward to hearing of his adventures overseas.

I wish all of our school community members a holy, happy and safe Easter and a relaxing and connected Term One holiday break.

Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savoured.
