Winter Uniform

Traditionally students change over to the winter uniform at the commencement of Term 2. However, in the first few weeks of term, some of the days may be warm and so there is generally a lead into the full winter uniform. If the temperature is forecast above 25 degrees children may wear their summer uniform. The current uniform and student grooming policy is available on the school’s web site. May I also remind you that the sports sneakers need to be predominately white. Thank you for your cooperation.

Hats

In Term 2 students will not need to wear their hats at school unless the UV reading is high. For this reason, it is better to leave your child’s hat at school in case it is required. Hats can come home in the holiday break for a wash and then be sent back to school ready for Term 2.

Lost Property

Lost Something?............ Please check the lost property table near the doors to the canteen area in the ‘breezeway’. There has been a lot of plastic containers and items of clothing left there in the last week. Please remember that anything that comes to school needs to have your child’s name clearly marked on it. This way it stands a better chance of being returned to you should it go missing.

Sports Day

We are hoping for a great day tomorrow for Sports Day. Kristen Victory, Amanda Ford, Eliysha Mutton and Mick Burgan have done an outstanding job making sure all is in readiness for the day. The forecast for tomorrow sunny and 23 so it should be a lovely day. You will have received a brief timetable of the day that was emailed to families this week. The children will be dropped off at the oval and not at school. Reception –Year 2 parents you can collect your children at 1.30pm after the JP dance and toddler race.

In order to generate team spirit, we have given students permission to wear hair colour, coloured zinc cream and coloured nail polish on Thursday as long as it is applied at home, not at the oval or on the way to the oval. Students are asked not to be excessive with the application of zinc creams. Can we please be environmentally aware and ensure that there be no crepe paper, as it is difficult to clean up at the end of the day. We will provide adequate bins so that the oval is left respectfully at the end of our event.

Please make sure you let teachers know before you take a child home at the end of the day. There will be class signs for easy identification. I look forward to seeing you all there tomorrow.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day

Invitations have been sent out for our Grandparents and Special Friends morning. This event is always well embraced by our community. It will be held on Friday 10th May at 9:30am commencing with a beautiful liturgy on our school oval, visits to classrooms and concluding with scones and morning tea. Please ensure you return the RSVP at your earliest convenience for catering purposes.

Mother's Day (Save this Date)

All mothers, grandmothers and special friends are invited to our Mother's Day morning on the second Thursday back to school, 9th May in the Multi-Purpose Room at 9am. Come along and join us for champagne, chocolates and strawberries. There will be a blessing of mothers and special appearance from our Receptions. Please drop in for what will be a special morning.

I wish all families a restful holiday and break away from routines. A reminder that we return to school on Monday 29th April.
