Book Week Parade

Yesterday saw us celebrate the annual Star of the Sea School Book Week parade. We were certainly blessed with some beautiful weather. I extend a sincere thank you to the children and their families for their engagement in dressing up this year. It was clearly apparent the effort that families had gone to provide, make, organise and decorate costumes. There were pirates, treasure maps, ‘Things, 1 and 2, Wallies, from Where’s Wally, just to mention a few. Then there was a myriad of book characters from Jedi Knights to Sports Stars.  Each class had the opportunity to ‘parade’ around the courts to their chosen song and then strike a pose for the camera. A huge thank you to Helen Kolaczkos, Maria Ottrey and the library staff for the wonderful book week activities we have taken part in this year. The book fair in the library was extremely well supported attended by families and students.

Before School Supervision

I remind community members that yard supervision begins in the courtyard at 8.20am. Please remind children to move to the courtyard where there is teacher on duty. The convent courtyard, nature play space and other areas of the school are out of bounds unless parents are directly supervising children.

Thanks for your cooperation with this important area of safety on our school.

Joy is prayer; joy is strength: joy is love; joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls. Mother Teresa

Thanks and Blessings
